Welcome in the Violin making workshop

François Louant's workshop is dedicated to violin making and repair.

Violins; violas and cellos are made according to the 17th and 18th century techniques and principles as used by luthiers in Cremona.

From wood seasoning to varnishing and final settings, every single step of the craft is made by hand in François Louant's workshop. Visit our page "sweat & craft" to see repairs processed at the moment in the workshop.

Soon, pictures of a violin being made will be displaid. Visit regularly!

Any question can be put to me through a special form on the "FAQ." page. May be, you'll find the answer in the same page or in the page "Good care".
